Some DIY projects for Christmas

It's a new challenge over at

Through The Purple Haze Challenges

 and it's a easy one :)

#115 Anything Goes

I have made some new ornaments for the Christmas tree this year.

I used this tutorial for DIY paper star, but changed the width to 0,3 cm and the length to 11 cm. Instead of bending the strips like step 6 I let the strips cross on a earlier point in a appr. 90 degree angle

Tip 1:
If you want pointed ends like I have here, cut them before starting on stage 6 in the tutorial :) It's easier to make nice tips at this point.

Tip 2:
Use different colors on the strips and different width. Thinner strips for the two you glue together in step 2&3 is a very pretty option :)

This year my Christmas tree will have 8 snowflakes like the two shown above, and 8 stars like the tutorial shows. I have a ton of them laying around now, so it will be hanging stars and snowflakes in different colors and sizes in every corner of the house when I get them up :)

Thank you for looking :)

Christmas is coming (Fabrika Fantasy DT)

Today I show you "Werewolves Chieftain" in a wintery scene. I picked this image to see if I was able to create a winterscene out of it- what do you think?

I did this coloring on some really old paper, so I'm a bit worried it can fall apart- it has been framed to avoid that.

Boo! with Vampire Marchioness

There's a new challenge over at the

and theme this month is

oh, what the heck!

I have used Vampire Marchioness for my DT project this time, and she is superduper awesome!
I colored the entire background black/dark grey except the parts I wanted to keep. I sticked to some classic Halloween colors -green and purple. And of course black.

I added "Boo" and the flares freehand. Layered it all up and added Glossy Accent to "Boo" (it doesn't show very well).

Monochrome with Broken Fairy Designs

It's time for a new challenge over at Broken Fairy Designs- and this time challengeblog and FB challenge have the same theme; Monochrome!

I have used Feeding The Ducks and went for a rustic look when I colored it up with my Prismacolors.

I sanded parts of the backing paper and distressed the edges. For the paper I colored on I used a paintbrush dipped in water to get a tearing edge. The flowers was colored from white to dark orange with Distress Markers and Distress Stains.

Pop over to the blog or to the FB group to see more fabolous creations from the BFD DT!

And don't forget to join the Anything Goes opt/ Monochrome challenge :)

In between my DT projects I actually find time to do something else.

I have a pile of Make It Crafty images from my time on the team, I love using them in different scenes. This time I used Hunting Dad and Hiding Deer and Duck. The size is appr 20" x 25" and colored on Kraft.

I merged the two images in Word, then added a text layer in the background saying "Jeger bom-bom" (translated; Hunter miss- miss... so this is teasing the hunter)

This is for Tor Arne- a hunting buddy of my hubby. I leave it up to hubby to get it framed! :)
