Topsy Turvy Mismatch with Lacy Sunshine

This time we have a really fun challenge for you, its time for

#57 Topsy Turvy Mismatch!

Confused? What we want you to do is to take an image clearly meant for one thing and make something that mismatch! A Valentine image for a Helloween card, an Easter image for a birthday card.

I choosed Daphne Pin Up- an image I would consider as a birthday/to-my-best-friend/maybe a communion kind of image. I used it for a Christmas card in VERY untraditional colors and to be honest- I had a blast making it!

See something else strange about my card? The image looks kind of grainy doesn't it? From an angle;

After finished coloring I was really happy with it, look; she even got makeup on! Thats something new for me :) But I wanted to try something more. Something I have had on my "things to try-list" for two years: covering an image with microbeads. I did it! I took a thin, a very thin, layer of glue over the entire image and sprinkled loads of microbeads over it. I love how it turned out :)

I also borrowed my moms sewing machine- I can't sew! I didn't even manage to get "straight foreward" stitches with it *lol* Other things I have used; seam binding ribbon, Distress Ink, raindrops, white leafs, roses in different sizes and colors, MS snowflake punch, MS corner punch (for the circle behind the image), and berries. Unknown sentiment stamp. DP from Maya Design.

Will get my recipe card in here when Blogger is done acting up.

Pyjamarama Blog Hop LS

Today at Lacy Sunshine we are taking part in a Pjyama Party blog hop!

So if you just came across my post, you might consider to start over at the Lacy Sunshine Blog :)

-*-*-*-

I have made a shadowbox project using the digi called Sweet puppy Dreams from the Stitched Collection and it can be found in the shoppe. Isn't this a beautiful little puppy???

(Thanks to Thea for setting up this scene with some of her stuffed animals)

I have used Distress Inks to create the background on watercolor paper. My daughter Thea wanted a simple frame over her bed, and she also decided the colorscheme. Purple and bluegreens are her favorite colors (it runs in the family), so I wasn't out of comfortzone at all :) For the stitches I used white Sakura Glaze pen.

I resized the image, so from one end of the bone to the other it measures 5 1/8" (or appr. 13 cm).
My image was coloured using Prismacolor Pencils. Colors listed in the recipe below.

I hope you like what I have to share with you today and would like to leave me a comment as I like to read what you think :) And as a bonus: I will draw a winner among the comments! The winner will get a digital image or a digital paperpack of their choice from the Lacy Sunshine Shoppe!

Here is the line up for the hop in case you get a little lost

6 - Lisbeth (DT) - http://www.skaperlyst.blogspot.no/ (You are here)
Now please hop on over to CINDY to continue with the hop.
We hope you enjoy taking part and get lots of inspiration along the way.

Thanks for hopping with us :)

Hugs :)

Shabby Chic, Vintage or Steampunk with Lacy Sunshine

Hi all lacies and others that pop by :)
Its challenge time again over at
Theme for the next two weeks;

#56 Shabby Chic, Vintage or Steampunk

My heart belongs to some less decorated projects, but it's fun playing with other styles now and then. This time I made a tag using Constance Cherished Wings , the digi version. She is so adorable holding on to her little kitten.

Colored with Prismacolor pencils, and it took me less than 20 minutes! For me that classifies as speedcoloring! The designpaper is from Kort&Godt and is called "harmony". Beautiful shade of bluegrey!
